THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP!

THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

The wonderfully awesome Aisling Mancy invited me to participate in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop and I couldn't resist this ongoing game in which authors talk about their favorite thing: their work, more particularly, their Work in Progress.

The ten questions are:
1. What is the working title of your book?

A MOST WANTON WOMAN

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

I was reading one day about  the Jacobite uprising and thought how sad it was that so many people lost so much.  I delved a bit deeper and thought...hey what if I wrote a story about a strong woman who ended up indentured because of the uprising.

3. What is the genre of the book?
It's an historical romance that takes place in colonial America.
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Looks wise, Nora is very similar to Katy Perry...can she act though?  And the male lead, Matthew Remington,  I think of Brad Pitt as he was when he played Louie in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE--minus the creepy eyes and teeth!
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
OMG! That's tough.  How about...Losing everything is just the beginning?
6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency/publisher?
I haven't decided yet.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I'm still writing it and it's in it's 3rd incarnation.  So far it's taken like 25 years...Maybe this time it will take!
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I can't think of one!
9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
No one...but history!
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Oh, did I mention that Matthew is a not so reformed pirate?
Here’s an awesome author I think you should check out:
Thanks for lookin'!
Hugs,
Harris.
